The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio was founded in 1977 by a small group of parents determined to create a better future for their children living with epilepsy.

What began as a support group at the former Medical College of Ohio, now The University of Toledo Medical Center, quickly grew into a trusted resource for families across Northwest Ohio.

By June 1977, the organization formally incorporated as The Epilepsy Association Center of Northwestern Ohio, now known as The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio.

Nearly 50 years later, our mission has expanded to serve not only individuals living with epilepsy, but also those with developmental disabilities. Today, we provide epilepsy support and developmental disability services throughout Northwest Ohio, serving individuals, families, and communities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the lives of people affected by epilepsy and those with developmental disabilities.

Our Vision

People with epilepsy and those with developmental disabilities will attain the highest quality of life and gain full acceptance and understanding from the community.
