Serving Northwest Ohio Since 1977.

About Us

The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio began with a small group of parents determined to create a better future for their children living with epilepsy. Meeting at what was then the Medical College of Ohio (now the UToledo Medical Center), they built a support group that soon grew into a lasting community resource.

By June 1977, the group had incorporated as The Epilepsy Association Center of Northwestern Ohio, now known as The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio.

Nearly 50 years later, our reach has expanded to serve not only people with epilepsy but also those with developmental disabilities, as epilepsy is more common in this community. Today, our services are available to people with epilepsy, developmental disabilities, or both—no one is required to have both conditions to receive support.

Our Mission

The Mission of the Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio is to improve the lives of people affected by epilepsy and those with developmental disabilities.

Our Vision

People with epilepsy and those with developmental disabilities will attain the highest quality of life and gain full acceptance and understanding from the community.
